Day 7
Destination - Yeh Liu 野柳

an hour bus ride from Taipei Main Station & here we are

fisherman at pier for small fishes

smiley guy posing for my photo

Joe & Tienboon checking out  Infiniti's booty

Yeh Liu GeoPark
the amazing part about this place is its rock formations

as you can see, there's a crowd up ahead & thats where we were heading,
"The Queen's Head"
warning: be prepared to queue for 10-20 mins

my photo with the Queen =)
it wasnt all easy & pleasant to get this shot.
basically, there was this group about 7 infront of me & they rotated for their shots
the last person was done, but the first person didnt like her photos & took another.
I was kind enough to let her take again & then it was my turn.
while I was taking my shots, she checked her shots & was not satisfied..
so she barged into my shot halfway & wanted a retake
"小弟,让让,我要拍多一张"
I shall not divulge this group of tourists' nationality,
but I believe it should be basic courtesy to not barge into others shot.

that was first unpleasant encounter I had with fellow tourists & it didnt stop there
next, I came across another group of tourists taking a group photo by these rocks
the photographer conveniently just threw his bag on another one of the rocks behind him
I believe nature needs to be preserved from rain & shine or even natural disasters,
but tourists are wiping them out faster than we know it coz of actions like this

I was displeased with these consecutive bad experiences
& I tried to find somewhere secluded to avoid these unpleasantries

lucky I was able to chance upon these little flowers to brighten my mood slightly

*this place seems far enough & I dont see much people there*

finally a moment where I can enjoy the scenery in peace

Tienboon's YOLO shot

*is this really formed naturally?*
we started to find it any part of these could be all man-made

a narrow gap in the wall of rocks;
that always remind me of "127 hours" & makes me wana go hike canyons

we found a fisherman counting his catch
& it was time to head back where we came from....

what does the rock look like to you?
I see an elephant with its nose up high

we had sea urchin for dinner & they were so fresh that they were still moving.
just be careful not to be poked by those spikes!!!

back @ KeeLung MiaoKou Night Market for some dessert

signature mango + milk shaved ice

drizzle condensed milk over the big bowl of mango milk shaved ice

salmon intoxication for supper!!!

Taiwan - Day 6

by the way, this is how Taipei Main Station look like,
old on the outside, but a gigantic maze on the inside~~
& let me intro a Taiwanese friend of TienBoon,
his name is Joe!!

start the day with another hearty breakfast at R6 Cafe
our style is to breakfast the moment cafe is open & carry on with our itinerary

waffles with ice cream + macaroon caramelized honey toast

leaving those cute macaroons for the last

some TWG tea appreciation

random portrait #1

XinDian Station taking bus towards WuLai Village
better queue up early & pray no rain (bring umbrella)
dont take any cab drivers' offer to go there, its not that far

amazing mum brings cute kid on a visit to WuLai Village during his holiday

the reason why so many people is soaking in the water is bcoz the area is a natural hotspring

colour of the stream is simply beautiful;
a mix of Blue & Yellow = Greenish

hot springs at our feet

dogs practically everywhere

random portrait #2

I personally like this shot very much

1st attempt at snapping tram going downhill..... FAILED~~

after a good hike about 1-1.5km, we've almost reached the top of the hill

YAY~~!!!

partial rainbow at the waterfall

on our way down, we can see more tourist coming up now..
lucky us, we came early so we could escape the crowd =)

2nd attempt at capturing tram.... SUCCESS~!!
& so we head back to XinDian station to find some food
coz we are dead hungry from all the physically exhaustive hiking
碧潭吊桥 BiTanDiao Bridge
remember the partial rainbow earlier??
the stream flows down all the way here & the view is spectacular
if only I have a car, I would've taken pit stops along the way to see fish farms or what not

cheese oozy pork cutlet

I swear this is the BEST RAMEN I ever had till date!!!
I'm really craving for it & dont mind going back there just to eat this

after satisfying stomach, we had a stroll by the river
& saw a guy that tamed his dogs so well to line them up for photos

many people walk their dogs here

better take some photos before the sun sets & to our next location

师大夜市 ShiDa Night Market
this is practically heaven for girls!!!

HelloKitty mascot spotted with Taiwan chick

the shops & people are seriously everywhere
I was too exhausted to look for guys stuff & decided to go home early

by now, TienBoon & I thought we mastered Taipei Main Station.
However, that was not the case & we still get lost in it hahaha

I personally like this brand of mineral water,
it is like a reminder to "drink more water" every single time I see this.
BTW, it is summer in SG now & everyone should "多喝水" to prevent falling sick
